I have a 97 Honda Civic and my shakes when I brake. What could be the problem?
I had the brakes, rotors, and wheel bearings looked at and the mechanic said nothing was wrong with them.

Check with another mechanic. Do you have a brake pedal that pulsates when you come to a traffic light at slow speeds? How hard do you drive the car? How about the front end ( tie rods, ball joints, rack & Pinion ) etc…
You need explain your front end shake in detail to a good mechanic. What speed does it shake at. Be more specific with your problems and you will have a better chance at finding the culprit. Could be simple or major $$. Probably something simple… Sounds like rotors to me. But I don't know how you drive.
Sounds like bad rotors, I agree with the idea of having another mechanic take a look.
Mechanic #1 missed a perfectly good front brake sale. Have new front pads and rotors installed. The rotors are warped and he only saw the pads which must be in good shape but they should be replaced when doing new rotors. I'd take it back and tell the guy to do the fronts, he's lazy, but honest.

- Steering Wheel Shakes Stops Shakes At High Speed? I Have a 2004 Honda CRV i bought brand new tires for and they drove perfectly fine and smooth later that night i got a puncture and a flat tire which i fixed with a plug kit with no leaks the next day when i sped up to 65 miles an hour the steering wheel will shake a little for half a second then stop for a second then shake again over and over the faster i go over 65 the shake stop gets faster and under 65 it drives smooth as glass Is this a major concern?
- 98 honda crv stalls and shakes? For the past 3 days my car goes faster or slower on its own regardless of how far I push the gas petal. It stalls sometimes. After stalling I can turn on the car with no problem. After a few miles it does this again. It shakes a bit also
