I need major assistance with my 96 honda civic ex? - 1

My car just came back from a mechanic with multiple things changed. I took it in not starting. I was told but a guy it was fuel pump. After I got it to the mechanic aND first they said it wasn't fuel pump. They then called told me it was done went to pick it up after the timing belt was changed, the o2 sensor was changed. The temp sensor was changed, new spark plugs. And then it didn't start the next day went to pick it up they said it was ready and they changed the distributor cap. I drove it yesterday and it seemed fine went to start it today and it won't start. Got a funny buzzing sound from the main relay. I don't know what else could be wrong can somebody help me please

Up under the dash on the driver side, the main relay, it has "Mitsuba" written on the side of it. Re-solder it or replace it, your choice. Then go back and try and get some of your money that they wasted.

2 things come to mind. There's a main relay located under the drivers side knee panel that tends to go out over time and is often over looked, Also the distributors are notorious for going bad due to age and exposure to the elements. It's actually the ignitor that usually goes bad but distributor replacement is done instead. If you look under the cap and see visual signs of a brown powdery substance that's an indication the bearings are worn internally which indicates the distributor is in need of replacement. Also why was the t-belt done? It sounds to me like you may need to find another mechanic because just throwing parts at it like they have is just throwing your money away.

I forgot to mention on the comment that I for one am a female. I do not know a lot about cars. I'm not getting charged for everything. I'm trying to find possible solutions for my car. I know that without physically looking at my car it would be difficult to diagnose the issue. I just can't afford to go buy a new car at the moment which I'm sure s ok me b of u out there have ran into the problem.
