Is it a good idea to buy a 2007 Honda Civic Sedan that has its original engine? I know there was a recall due to a engine block problem?

If the price is realistic and it test drives OK why not?
It all depends on the two Gods of car buying; price and condition.
If it's made it this long without the engine failing, chances are whatever was wrong with some of those engines wasn't wrong with that particular car's engine or it would have most likely failed long ago.
You don't know the recalls on that car, they were Airbag and Brake Switch related. No ENGINE recalls. Read it yourself
- My 2007 Honda Element has a mint body and interior and under 64,000 miles but due to its age it needs about 4k in work, here is the list New tires, front struts with dust boots and bump stops, rear shocks, alignment, water pump, universal belt, front lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, timing side engine mount, rear brakes, flush and bleed the system and emergency brake adjustment. Should I do the work and keep it due to low miles and good eyeball condition?
- Is it a bad idea for me to refinance my original Honda auto loan? My credit has improved over the last 6 months and I would like to refinance in another 6 months or so once I feel more comfortable with my score. BUT is this a bad idea? Will Honda scold me for this when I go to the Service dept for maintenance? Or will other future lenders see me as some sort of unreliable consumer moving forward? I worry about this. Any advice would be great and much appreciated!
