Is it possible that my 2000 Honda Civic si could be an EJ8?
Everywhere that I have read says that the si is an EM1 but the chassis code on my car says EJ8.
All 1999-2000 Civic SI Coupe has chassis code EM1:
Chassis Code: EM1
Engine Code: B16A2
Engine Type: 1.6L 16-valve DOHC VTEC I4
Horsepower: 160 hp @ 7600 rpm
Torque: 111 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm
Compression Ratio: 10.2:1
Transmissions: 5MT
Weight: 2612 (99), 2601 (00)
Note: Besides your SI couple: The chassis code EJ is a bit more confusing since it covers both fifth and sixth generations of Civics in the US alone. Nearly all US 6th gen Civics are EJs though, while all US 5th gen coupes are EJs. The only 6th gen Civics in the US that are not EJ chassis are the EM1 and EN1.
These are the Civic that has code EJ8:
1996-2000 Civic EX Coupe
1996-2000 Civic EX Sedan.
Could just be that any previous owner did an si convertion which is basically replacing everything from the original Ej8 civic with the si mods (motor, front end, interior, etc.) .
- Will starter from an automatic 2000 Honda civic LX fit on a automatic 2000 Honda civic HX? The lx is a 5 gear transmission and the hx is a CVT transmission. With the starter fit? Mine went out on my hx
- Will a 2000 Honda civic front bumper fit a 1999 civic I'm talking about a 1999 civic dx? I have a 99 I'm in need of a new front bumber and I'm looking on Craigslist and a found a 2000 civic front bumper that's dope and it's cheap so I'm asking if it would fit perfect or what adjustments would I have to make is it worth it pretty much thanks
- Why could my 2000 Honda Civic show it's going to overheat I have coolant a new radiator a new radiator cap a new temp gauge switch and? A new thermostat head gasket is fine could it just need to flushed and a new water pump and timing belt
- What else could could be wrong? My stereo in my 2002 Honda civic la sedan wasn't working right so I had a friend check it out. Be got it so my stereo would work but now the a.c stopped working. When you try to use it the fans turn on for a second then automatically switch off. The mechanic shop said I need to change the control panel but I don't want to get a replacement then this isn't the issue. Is this all I can do to really know. What else could it be?
