My car rpm goes down while i'm driving on the highway at 60mph?

I have a Honda civic ex 98. While I'm driving at or about 60 mph the rpm starts to go from 3 to 2 and then goes back up to 3 constantly. I'm currently having a problem whit starting my car. After running the car for about 10 to 20 minutes when I go to turn it back on it doesn't turn on, I have to disconnect the injectors crank it a couple of times then reconnect them and the car will turn on. The cel is on and the code is p0325 which is the knock sensor, unfortunately that is not the problem.

Variable rpm with no change in speed indicates a slipping clutch.

Maybe one cylinder is intermittently not firing. First check all the spark plugs and plug cables.

My guess is you gas mileage is lower than it should be, also. The clue is what you know is wrong, the hard starting when it's hot. Your automatic transmission senses vacuum to shift into overdrive. When your car is out of tune, the vacuum falls (and the gas mileage) and the transmisssion thinks you are pressing harder on the gas pedal than you really are. You need a major tune up at least. If the problem continues after that, then other measures are in order. But to not perform the basic maintenence and just start replacing things is a waste of money. Also, your knock sensor code could be triggered by timing being off (part of the tune-up). Also, when was the cam belt last changed? If it's a tooth off it could be responsible and if it snaps your ikn for a big repair bill.
