Nothing electrical works? I have a brand new battery? Start button caused it. All fuses are fine?
I tried installing a push to start button in my honda civic 95. Because before i've been having to push start it. (Its a 5 speed) and i don't think the ignition is wired up. But i bought a new battery, and a new starter. Wired my power from my cigarette lighter to my 2 pin button. And from the other pin to the starter. When i tested the button for the first time it killed everything electrical in my car. No dash lights. No head lights. Nothing. And yes i have checked all of the fuses. I've put so mutch money into this car and now can't drive it because i have no idea what's wrong with it.
You have a loose connection or something is wired up wrong. My advice disconnect the battery and hook up the way it was. Until you get more info on how the work on automotive electrical. You could easily fry your wiring harness and cause a fire!
It sounds like you shorted out the computer.
Why did you not intall a regular ignition switch and a new lock cylinder? Installing the start button directly to the starter fried it when you tried to start as it easily took over 300 amps! Spend some money and get the car towed to a shop. They will have it figured out in an hour. Pray that you have not fried the ECU but it is likely you will need a complete rewiring of the car.
And start reading about relays.

- In my brand new car with all the computerized stuff, if I disconnect and reconnect the battery, do I have to reset the computer? I have a brand new, 2017 Honda CR-V EX. It has a bunch of computerized stuff that I old car doesn't have like blind spot monitor, tire pressure monitor, etc. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, do I have to reset any of the computerized stuff? Or can I drive it immediately with no problem?
