Radiator fan runs for less than a minute before turning off. Car is overheating?

I just replaced my thermostat and radiator fan sensor because my car was overheating due to the fans not turning on. Now the radiator fan does turn on but for less than a minute. It's not overheating nearly as bad as before but it has hit the red zone twice. I checked the hood to see if the fan was on and it wasn't until about 2 minutes they came back on then shut off after less than a minute while the car was still overheated.

What could be the problem. The fans are good, they blow cool air, they just don't stay on.

Honda Civic 2001

You need it tested. It might be the engine temperature sensor is bad.
Did you use a Honda thermostat? If not that might be part of the problem.
Get system pressure tested.

Bad head gasket putting compression into the cooling system and the air pocket is keeping the temperature sensor from turning the fans on.

  • Motorcycle: If a bike has low RPM, does it mean it is less smoother than a one with higher? Like Honda CBR 250R, it has a RPM of max 12. Kawasaki Ninja 250r has a RPM of max 15… So ninja goes smoother? Just because it has higher RPM or because it is a twin cylinder?
  • Less than $50 bike rack for small hybrid? So I have a honda crz, 2012 and I want to take my bikes on a road trip. Clearly I can't stick them in my trunk, and after looking on amazon(it has my price range) I found a few and some said that they would not fit my car, but other bike racks did not have the option to put in my car model and year. So my question is what is a good bike rack that will fit my honda crz 2012 that can handle 4 hours on the interstate in my price range?

  • 2004 honda civic ex neither radiator fan is turning on? Yesterday I was driving home and noticed that my car was starting to overheat when I was idling at a red light. The heat started to blow out cold air as the car temp. Went up. When I started to drive again the heat worked. This morning I checked under the hood and realized the first cooling fan did not work and the ac/heat fan did not turn on either. I check the fuzes and antifreeze so was wondering what else can cause the fans to stop working
