Should/can I turbo charge my car?
Hi! Looking to increase my WHP on my 2002 Honda Civic ex,
engine is a d17a2 vtec sohc
looking for a cheap priced turbo but a high quality one. Any help? I've looked into supercharging and engine swapping but I'm thinking turbo is the best rout
Should you spend a ton of money "upgrading" a 13 year old car?
Isn't that kind of like repainting the ashes after your house burns down?

Keep in mind the D-Series bottom-end wasn't designed with a turbo charger in mind. The rods can only handle 5-7psi on an excellent tune and the compression will need to be lowered to accommodate the added compression.
It can be done and it can be done fairy inexpensively.
You can find low priced DIY turbo kits online.
I would suggest getting dished pistons, forged connecting rods, coated rod/main bearings, MLS head gasket and head studs.
Also, you will need to upgrade the fuel delivery: 380cc+ Injectors, ~255LPH fuel pump
You will need an excellent tune and boost management.
Do plenty of research to see if this is something you want to get into.
D-Series is a well designed platform, but turbo-charging some "know how".

- I want to turbo charge my car? I have a 1988 Honda prelude 2.0s. I want to boost but don't know if it would be worth it. It has 235,00 miles and has just had regular maintence, nothing serious has happened to the engine and it still Ru s great. Any advice would be great.
