Stereo wire has no power on 98 honda civic?

Bought a 98 honda civic ex a while back and already had a aftermarket stereo(wire harness & all) but stereo itself wouldt turn on. I put a test light to the 3 main power wires(postive-negative & constant)… It seems the red positive wire isn't working. I checked stereo fuse and its good. And there are two fuse box locations in my car, under hood and under dash. Under the hood the fuse is fine but i've been hearing there's a second radio fuse under dash, IF So WHAT NUMBER IS IT AND HOW MANY AMPS?

Ps i don't have the manual sp please don't refer me to it

Recheck/ test the wires coming out of your car's ignition switch. There should be a constant "hot" 12 volt wire and a wire that has 12 volts ONLY when you turn the key to the "on" position (Is this the Red wire you're talking about?).

Look up the wiring instructions for your aftermarket stereo and wire accordingly. The ground wire from your aftermarket stereo should go directly to the Civic chassis ground, find a screw somewhere and connect it there. If you're not getting 12 volts at any of your wires the check the fuse at the under dash fuse box #28 (10 Amps/ Red color fuse) turn the lid over and you'll see the fuse location and the fuse mane (Radio/Clock)

Edit: Hope it help and E mail if you have any more question. You do have the instruction and illustration manual for the radio, right? What is the name and model of the unit? HTH

I don't know what the red wire is. Check the source for the car-side wiring.
