Volks GTI vs Honda Civic Si vs Acura RSX type S?

Want something fun to drive, reliable, good on mpg and is going to last… While it will still be respectable at a red light if someone is giving me "that glare" haha…

I would like to drive these before I made a decision but I'm working 12 hours everyday this summer and won't have time to do much shopping around before I start college.

I'm leaning towards the Volkswagen but I do not know if the reliability and resale are as high as a civic si or Acura. Any input is appreciated.

I love it when some kid pulls next to me at the light in one of those cars. Its like when you scold a dog and it tucks the tail and tries to sneak away. If you want respectable you have to look at a whole different list of cars. Mustang gt camaro firebird challenger. Heck even the half ton trucks get more respect

I'd go for the civic SI or the rsx type s. VW sucks in my opinion. LOL Camaro! The 01-05 civic SI and the rsx type s, they both have the same engine platform the, k series so the parts between the engines are interchangeable. The SI has the k20a3 which has i-vtec only on the intake camshaft which puts out 160hp and 142lb/ft of torque and the rsx type s has the k20a2 which has real vtec, it puts out 200hp and 149lb/ft of torque. The civic SI is lighter though. The rsx type s does come with a better transmission, I'm sure it's geared similar to the Japanese Integra type r. The best k series engine combo is the block off a crv the k24a4 because it is a 2.4 liter, and the cylinder head of the rsx type s, some similar pistons to the type s, and the type s transmission that combo would have 220+hp and 180+lb/ft of torque, that's 20+ more hp and 40+lb/ft more torque than a stock k20a2 and it will still be considered stock because it uses Honda OEM parts!
