What would cause my car to bog out and die?
I was driving along the freeway one day, and my speedometer dropped to zero, and right when that happened my check engine light turned on. A few miles later my rpms dropped to zero as well.
I decided to pull over at the next rest stop, turned my car off then it wouldn't turn over. Just made a click sound. So I got a jump and it started. 10 miles later my car started bogging out really bad, I pulled behind a semi and he was pulling away from me. I couldn't gain speed. I own a manual so I dropped it to 3rd gear and it just didn't want to go. After I did that the car just shut down.
I replaced the alternator, and got a new battery. It then started, but after a few miles of driving it again it died the same exact way and will not start or try to turn over
I own a 97 Honda civic hatch back.
Anyone know what would be causing this?
Has anything been added prior to your problems! It sounds like it's an electrical problem, and something is grounding out the electrics to the engine.
- Why does my atv run for 10 minutes then stall and die? Just put a brand new carburetor on my 2006 Honda trx. It will crank on the first try no problem. After riding it and it getting hot the bike dies? Why is this?
- Will my car battery die while I'm gone for three weeks? My car is Honda Civic 2015. I purchased this new car in October this year. I wonder if my car battery will die if I leave this car for three weeks in the airport parking lot while I'm away?
- Why did my 1997 honda civic die out while driving? I have a 1997 honda civic and while driving the rpms dropped to 0 and the car eventually shut off. It's never happened before and now it cranks but doesn't turn over what do I do?
- What would cause power steering fluid to leak out of an input shaft seal? Would replacing the seal fix this issue? I don't see why fluid is even entering the steering gear/shaft area anyways. I thought it doesn't. 2008 Honda Civic coupe
