What's the average number of miles honda civics run until?

Is this a good deal.a 2002 honda civic LX for $5,995 with 172,900 miles on it?

Honda's are the best cars out there that retain their value and live for ever with just minimal scheduled maintenance.

You ever notice how you always see ads and hear commercials for Kia or Toyota or Nissan to come in this weekend get a sale on new parts maintenance etc… But you never hear about them for Honda?

Its because Honda's are built to last!
I my 94 civic lasted till 130,000 miles on it till I traded it in for a new car! And over 100,000 miles is the average for all Honda's.

NOT A GOOD DEAL - 6k for any car that has 173,000 miles on it is way too high. Check out www.Autotrader.com for better deals on Civics in your area.
I just did a quick search and found about a dozen Civics in my area (north NJ) that had less than 90,000 miles and were all priced below $6k

A colleague of mine had a '85 Civic that had more than 250,000 miles on the clock and ran well - mind you it was on it's third exhaust system (original engine and manual transmission though). He sold it to another friend for $1!

Not sure, but, alot, I had a 93 Honda Civic I bought in 96 and kept it until 1995, best car I ever owned, but, kept leaking oil and we couldn't keep it from doing that, sold it on Ebay for $1400

Mileages on that civic are pretty high so I would steer clear of it but if it was maintained very well, it would probably last another year or two.

I'm pretty sure you can find a car with less mileages than that for a cheaper price.

Sounds alright to me. I would double check all the stuff for it, but Civics are known for their reliability and their ability "to run until the end of time"

See if you can get them to 5000 or 5500 civics are know to last a life time but it all depends on how you treat it. Avg. 250000 before any major problems.

Depends on your risk tolerance I'm not saying it. A bad car but I would pass on this one.
