When buying a Used car, are there stuff that multi-point inspections can't find?

My sister has a deal on a used 2018 Civic Hatchback with only 6778 KM on it.

I'm always hesitant on buying used cars due to previous owners and how they use it. The Honda dealer said its in good shape, but obviously they will say that in order to sell the car.

Like, they will say the brakes are good, and the oil is fine, but how did the driver drive the car? Did SHE avoid potholes? How did SHE drive through speed bumps? Did she drive over them fast? Did she always floor it? Did she drive at high RPM's.

No way a car fax can tell you that.

Buying any used car is a gamble, it's just a matter of how much risk you will accept. Nobody can tell you how the car was driven or cared for by the previous owner.

That car is still under the bumper to bumper warranty, so if she likes it, and the price is right, then buy it.
The dealer will fix any defects.

Multi point inspections are mainly about initialing something 140 times. If it is certified it is just an extended warranty.

Do you want to know what kind of shape your used car is in? Here is a very easy way to find out. Raise the hood look at the transmission dipstick look at the oil dipstick and at the power steering dipstick if it has one. Is the stick really shiny looking? Do not buy it if it is! The metal surface should appear dull not shiny and not Rusty either. If the metal is shiny and polished looking that means that the oil and fluid was poorly maintained and metal particles have a braided the dipstick and your engine or transmission. A dull metal surface on your dipstick. Shows you that the fluids were frequently changed that's a good sign that the vehicle was maintained well

It's under warranty

If you can't drive a car with that low of mileage and tell if it works good or if you're that paranoid buy a new car. There should still be a factory warranty on that car. Smell the seats just in case the last owner couldn't control their bladder!

Buy a new car if you feel that way. You want a mechanic to be a fortune teller. They are not that. Mechanics will look at conditions and make judgments, but they can't predict the future.
