Which car is a better deal?

I don't have good luck with used cars… In the past 7 years, I have gone through a Cadillac Catera, a Chevy Lumina, and a Honda Civic. The Civic lasted the longest, but developed electrical issues at 156k miles that the dealership couldn't resolve. Both other cars had major problems at 100k miles.

So, what is a better deal? A certified used Honda Civic for $13,000 with 65k miles, or a brand new Nissan Versa sedan for $13,000? I can't really afford more than $13,000 right now.

Added (1). Or are there other cars in the same price range that are a good deal?

The Versa is obviously the better deal because… Its brand new. You get a warranty with it, which means the dealer covers any potential problems & repairs for the first xxx amount of miles.

Another reason why is because, since its brand new, YOU determine how reliable the car is. Meaning you follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule according to what the owner's manual says.

For that kinda money i'd get like an Audi or something! Just because there my favorite car. Haha but anyways, both of those cars are imports from japan and usually are very reliable… If i were you i'd go with the Nissan just because it is brand new, so you'll probably get a warranty with it but there will be a long time to wait before any major repairs.

Nissan Versa

Certified just means overpriced.

Ford Focus, Mazda 3 & 6 are good cars. But have a mechanic check before you buy.

The better deal is the one you feel most comfortable driving. They both will have factory warranty but the Versa has less of a chance of needing repairs right away.
