Would a bad input shaft bearing noise present during certain rpms while jacked up?

My honda civic makes a loud rattle during certain rpms (2000+rpm) in 1st and 2nd gear, it does have a bad isb but the rattle i'm not %100 if it is related to the isb. Should the rattle/grind also be evident if the car is jacked up if it had to do with the isb?

If it happens, jacked up & not in gear. The problem is inside the engine. If it only happens when being driven, it's in the drive train or suspension I kind of wanted an answer related to it being in gear, jacked up, nonetheless it does help some.

  • Which team's livery past or present is your favourite? Why? For me its Rothmans Honda. Dated I know. But the dark blue & white main colours with the red, white & gold stripes is not only simple but striking. Add in the Rothmans, Castrol & HRC logos in & walaa! Marlboros may be my favorite ciggies but the red & white just doesn't seem to 'fit' with a motorcycle. The modern day liveries, some with those heavy metalish designs or the orange white & black of Repsol are far too garish for my liking.
  • Is the 1985 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft compatible with the 86-2001 Honda CR 500 water pump gear shaft? I have a 1985 CR 500 and the water pump gear shaft broke. It has been discontinued from Honda, and no one else has it. It is a metal gear. The one's for the 1986-2001 CR 500 are plastic. If I have to use plastic, I will. However, I prefer not to. If anyone knows where I can get the OEM 1985 Honda CR 500 gear shaft, I would forever be grateful.
  • What would cause power steering fluid to leak out of an input shaft seal? Would replacing the seal fix this issue? I don't see why fluid is even entering the steering gear/shaft area anyways. I thought it doesn't. 2008 Honda Civic coupe
  • What's the biggest innovative differences in the Honda Civic models from 2005 to present? I have $15,000 set aside for a new used car and I want a Honda Civic (or a Toyota Corolla or Camry but not relevant for the purpose of this question) but spending less for a older model, no older than a 2005, is also something of my interests. Because I'm interested in either a 2005 or newer, I would like to know how Honda made their successors better every year and if there are any Honda Civic year models to not buy due to a common trend of issues or the like.
