Would this make my insurance go up?

I have a black 2000 Buick Century, and am wanting to get a 95-00 Honda Civic Si. I was wondering if this would make my insurance go up. The Honda is a coupe and has a V tech engine, but it is only a 4 cylinder. I'm just not sure if it would make a difference. I'm 18 by the way.

Yes it will effect your insurance. Hondas get stolen more often, get wrecked more often and are driven recklessly more often than a Buick.

Each insurance company has it's own pricing schedule and go by history of models which a more troublesome than other cars. They have a chart which they go by, plus the cost of the vehicle in case an un-insured hits you.

Tell them of your intention, and same time ask them which models have the lowest rate. It also will depend on accessories, such as, is it a 4-Wheel drive or not. So be sure to know the cars model.
