08 honda crv overheating?

My crv starts to idle funny when i turn the ac on and then it starts overheating. When i'm driving and the ac is on it doesn't overheat but when at idle it starts overheating. What is wrong with it? It blows cold ac

Probably the radiator fan that's not working properly.
when your driving, the wind blows through the radiator and condenser to cool the engine.
you may need to check the radiator fan.
when you turn on the car AC, the radiator fan suppose to kick on to cool the radiator coils and condenser coils, so it doesn't overheat.
try cleaning the dust off the coils.

That happened to me before and it was the fan that caused it. Someone told me if I turn my heat up the car wouldn't overheat, and they were right. Not that it's a solution but it helped until I got the fan.

The radiator for the motor may be partially plugged up.
Are the radiator and condenser fans working when the AC is turned on?

  • Why has my Honda VTX 1300 Motorcycle been overheating ever since I laid it down? I changed the coolant, cleaned the air filter and got a new thermostat but still over heats if I'm sitting at every red light. Will start up after it cools down but always over heats when I idle too long. Any ideas?
  • I have a 1997 Honda CRV all wheel drive. And it keeps overheating? I have checked all of the fluids and they are full. There are no leaks from the radiator or hoses, the antifreeze is full and the car keeps overheating. I haven't replaced the thermostat yet but is there something else that I'm NOT checking that could cause it?
  • 98 Honda CRV, Overheating randomly what is the cause? Hi, I have a 1998 Honda CRV that tends to overheat randomly (after an hour or so of driving) and go back down to normal. I replaced the thermostat and the problem still persists. We also checked the water levels and it does not seem to loose any water. What could be the cause?
  • Why is my 1998 Honda civic lx still overheating? I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, flushed the radiator and done a coolant test to check for gasses and all is good. The fan is wire up so it automatically comes on when ignition is turned on and is blowing the correct way. Do I need to try a new radiator cap or radiator? Engine light is on but it's for a 02 sensor. Any help is appreciated.
