How are fog lights supposed to be used?
It may seem obvious to use it in the fog but where I'm it is barely foggy, and lots of drivers especially SUV's use it at night.
On my CRV 2018 I use it at night and no one flashes me and I like it because it provides better visibility around the very front of the vehicle and makes me more aware of potholes and such.
I even saw the 2018 Honda Civic EX-T have it.
I have asked other drivers and they say they either use it because it looks good, it helps them see better, or they don't care and just put the lights on auto.
Fog lamps work by illuminating the ground immediately in front of the vehicle. They are usually mounted low down to be most effective. When driving in fog or heavy rain normal lamps and high beams in particular, tend to reflect back off the fog/rain and all you see is a wall of white. By having these lamps with a wide spread mounted low down, it is possible to maximise the available visibility without compromising your limited forward view. Fog lights tend to have a widely dispersed beam and (should be) aimed at the ground, they so not dazzle oncoming traffic too much, however using fog lamps when there's no fog may get you a ticket depending on laws where you live. Where I live you are not permitted to use fog lamps unless visibility is poor.
As long as your fog lights are installed and aimed properly, there shouldn't be an issue with using them whenever your low beam headlights are used. The factory installed fog lights on my Ram pickup turn off when you switch to high beam headlights.
- Will the 2000 honda civic fog lights fit a 1998 honda civic? I don't wana do a conversion can i just cut the bumper where you normally install them for a 2000 honda civic

- Which fog lights should I get? I have never shopped for fog lights and have no idea how to choose. I just recently purchased a brand new 2017 Honda Civic EX. The fog lights sockets are already there but the lights are not installed. Essentially i'd like white LED lights. I care more about looks than actual visibility performance. - What light disbursement do these fog lights have? I plan to add these fog lights to my car. They are EK3 Honda Civic JDM fog lights. I plan to put HIDs in my car soon because I want to have a nice cut off line like most HIDs do.
