How much should a mechanic charge for labor to install an A/C condenser on a 2003 Honda CRV?
How much should a mechanic charge for labor to install an A/C condenser on a 2003 Honda CRV?
A lot, if he is any good. If he's not good with A/C stuff, then the price doesn't matter at all.
I'd charge $175 to install it and another $65 to evacuate and charge the system with 134a.
Parts plus labor, Skippy. Maybe you should ask the mechanic what his hourly rate is.
I go to the Honda dealer and talk to the AC mechanic.
He will do what is called "( a side job )
You are looking at a $ 100 bill
If you go thru the dealer they charge $ 800 and pay him $ 59 for the 1.5 hours. The owner makes money, the service manager, the assistant manager, the General manager, the Valet, the car washer, the service advisor, the phone operator. Get my drift?
$235-$430, total, at dealer, depending on exact model and any further difficulty. If the front end is smashed, too( which is why condensors usually fail), go with the higher estimate.
On a hot day, he charges double.
I would recommend take it to the dealer. There's a TSB on the 2002-2004 CR-Vs A/C systems. You might be able to get it replaced for no charge. Compressors are not cheap to replace, so it's worth it to take it to Honda before doing this. If you don't want to go to them. Call the dealer about the A/C Technical Service Bulletin. Give them your VIN and they can tell you of any TSBs that your truck has. By the way the TSB for the compressor from Honda is TSB 09-076. It should be replaced free of charge. They may even include the condenser with this.
TSB in a recall or not the same thing I don't know why these people get this mixed up it is a technical service bulletin for technicians not a recall
- How much should I charge for brake service? I want to know to much to change to do brake service like example brake pad and shoe, brake rotor and every car is different like honda have those rotor screw and so how much should I change to do brake
- Is it okay to use an aftermarket AC condenser in my 2011 Honda Fit? I need to replace a leaking AC condenser in my Honda Fit. The dealer quoted me a ton so I'm taking it to an AC repair shop. However, the repair shop doesn't use parts from the original manufacturer. The owner told me that the aftermarket condenser has the same specifications though. My concern is that the dealer warned me about aftermarket parts because the pressures involved could mess up other parts. Should it be okay as long as the specifications are the same?
- How much to fix a 2003 Honda CRV driverside axle? I was driving last night when I hit a chem and now only the drivers side wheel is bent backwards so I think it may just be the part of the axle, nothing else in the car is damaged but how much money should I be looking into spending?
- How much will it cost in labor to install new bumper cover? I hit something and it made the left side of my bumper cover fall, and then the following day the other side fell. We popped it back into place temporarily but then when driving home the whole thing finally broke off. I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX so a bumper on EBay isn't expensive I just need to know an estimated labor cost to install it? I live in Houston. Also does anyone know any good collision shops in HTX that won't charge too crazy?
