Is 2.5k rpm too much for a 2013 Honda Fit with 1.3L engine?
Will it overheat?
1) if you look at the edmunds.com site, you will find the value of that vehicle
2) no way to know if it will overheat, but if the engine components are properly maintained, there there will be no issues
It will run a lot faster than that without issues if properly maintained.
Running down the highway its where it should be for a 1.3 engine
No, it's not.
Look at your tachometer. I'll bet it foes up to over 6,000 rpm before the motor red lines. If you have a stick shift vehicle take the rpms up to at least 4,000 rpms with normal shifting and up to 6,000 rpm while accelerating to merge on the expressway or to pass a slower vehicle. Shifting at 2,500 rpm all the time will end up allowing carbon to form in your combustion chambers.
Hi so this should be the normal speed it runs at most of the time.
No. In fact, your Honda will perform its best at 2 to 3k rpm.
Yes
It IDLES at 1000, and the red line is up in the red zone 5500 or 6500? So you are running in a low decent range… Long ways from DESTRUCTION.
- Is the reason why a motorbike engine won't work in a car because they can't produce high torque at low RPM? I have a 1.3 litre Mitsubishi Colt.
