My old shape honda fit is giving me problems with the gearbox(automatic transmission)?
It started last month when it was not moving on drive or reverse. I changed the transmission fluid and it moved a little. Someone recommended automatic transmission treatment, i filled it. Now it does not have power to move. It can't go up the slope, it rolls back even on drive. What should i do?
With respect, unless the car manufacturer recommends 'magic treatment' it should be avoided at all costs. You were right to change the transmission fluid as this gets tired after some time. But adding 'treatment' was a waste of money. I expect your transmission will need repair or exchanging.
Hi so wear has taken it's revenge here and now you need either a newer car or a replacement gearbox. Which ever it is going be expensive.
- Will starter from an automatic 2000 Honda civic LX fit on a automatic 2000 Honda civic HX? The lx is a 5 gear transmission and the hx is a CVT transmission. With the starter fit? Mine went out on my hx
- Is it worth giving a 2002 honda civic a paint? I want to buy a used car with less than 110K miles. Car needs some serious painting, and was wondering if it's worth buying it and then giving it a paint. How much would an average cost be?
- Honda Civic EP2 Gearbox Issue? My Civic EP2 recently got a reconditioned gearbox and clutch last year. Prior to getting the work done, it would make a sort of hissing noise when the clutch pedal was released. After getting the gearbox and clutch replaced, the noise stopped. Fast Forward a year, the noise has started to come back, and is really starting to bug me. Surely it won't need another gearbox and clutch? I paid around £700 for the work last year, which I though would of sorted the issue.
- Car hiccup when giving it gas, what is the worst case scenario? I have a 98 honda civic that just died on me and needed the spark replaced 2 weeks ago. Yesterday and this morning, it started having a hiccup every time I give it gas, like if i accelerating to pass a car, or going off a stop sign… It's gotten worse this morning compared to yesterday afternoon. The engine sounds normal, no lights come up… How fast should I get it checked? And how serious does this sound?
