Proper car, tire, and rim wash?

Okay, really stupid question, but I just got a new 2013 Honda Fit. Went to Wal Mart to pick out some cleaning products. Now, apparently there are different types of rim coatings and therefore you need different types of rim wash so its not to negatively effect each coat (metallic, chrome, etc.)

The trim level is a Honda Fit Sport… I think it says "alloy" rims… What kind of wash do I use for that?

I understand it sounds stupid but I don't want to get the wrong kind and ruin them.

Your Fit has aluminum wheels. You don't want a wheel and tire clear that is too strong. Go with the Meguiar's Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner.

  • Punctured tire replacement - can I replace only 1 tire - is it safe to replace the PUNCTURED tire only? My 2005 Honda Pilot rear left tire was punctured near the threshhold (ie - sidewall), but still usable. Thus the tire dealer patched it only. Should I replace that punctured tire only? Or should I replace the 2 tires on the same axle? Or even buy a whole set of 4 tires? I'm concerned about safety, and thus your best advice is very appreciated.
  • Replacement back rim and spokes for my 2007 Honda CRF450x Dirt bike. And recommendations? Every time I drive 20 feet the spokes get loose and my back wheel gets wobbly. I need a new rim ad spokes looking for good sites… Would prefer to buy the rim and spoke all together and not have to pay someone to respoke it.
  • Motorcycle no lights/start after wash? I have a 1981 Honda custom 500. Sprayed it at the car wash got it home, no lights and completely dead, won't turn over, charged battery and still nothing. Possibly bad regulator?
