What is the name of this part on my Honda GX270 9hp generator engine? I can't find it on a diagram. It appears to be broken off?

So my stepdad got a free 4000 watt generator from a guy that just left it outside. We're trying to get it running. Changed the oil, cleaned the carb, got a new recoil starter (pull rope assembly) because it was not working, put a new spark plug, put fresh gas into the tank, as soon as I put the fuel to on it just leaks from there. I can't find anything on the Honda website looking through the diagram. My classmate at Wake Tech Community College automotive program in Raleigh works at Pittsboro outdoor power equipment but he doesn't even know what it is. He asked me for the model number, which I gave to him but he said thats not it look on the valve cover. All it says on the valve cover is OHV. So thats another dead end. I went to Alvins Power Equipment off 401 by Wake Tech and they said they do not service or sell Honda engines. Was referred to Clay's power equipment in Raleigh, called them they said they would have to see it in person. Generator with the frame and gas tank is extremely heavy to put into the passenger seat of my car, not sure if it would even fit in there. The trunk isn't even an option either. I'm not sure what is supposed to go there. I went to Lowe's to just look for some kind of a pipe end cap, they had only 3/4 inch which won't go into it, and 1/2 which is too loose of a fit. No 5/8 end cap. Judging by how gas falls down when I put the fuel to on I'm thinking it must have been a chamber of some kind. I'm not sure how I could just seal it off. What is it?

Added (1). Will not let me upload a photo it just says we're experiencing technical difficulties please try again later. Do not know what to do to get help. What is the name of this part on my Honda GX270 9hp generator engine I can t find it on a diagram. It appears to be broken off

It's where the fuel strainer assembly should be. Part number 21.

Pretty cheap to just get a new carb. The float is sticking on this one I believe.

  • Where can I find a wiring diagram for a 2.2kva generator? I need to wire a standard generator so it's switchable between 110v and 230v, as it's only wired for 110v at the moment. So does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram? It's just a normal 5.5HP Honda generator with a 2.2kva alternator, commonly found on building sites in the UK. Cheers. If more info is needed, I have another question with more detail here;
  • What is the name of this part of my car? I drive a 2003 4WD Honda Element EX. Someone ripped this plastic panel off my car a while back and I'm now in a financial situation where I can afford to replace it. Where can I find this piece to my car? What is it called? If someone could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
  • How to know if i'm going to need a carburetor repair kit for my 9hp engine? I'm not the most mechanically inclined but i've come to the conclusion that i need to clean my small engine's carburetor (Honda 9hp gx270) to get it running. So my question is: how do i know if i'm going to need a carburetor repair kit (ie the ones on ebay ect.). What i'm hoping for is to clean it without needing the repair kit.
  • I need to find a part for my Honda ex1000 generator. I can't seem to find a part for a reasonable price or even the right part I have a Honda Generator and I need to buy a carburetor. I can find a lot of different ones online but I only find One for the Model I have. It is 80 bucks. I see a lot that look the same and I would like to know how to find one that is cheaper. I have looked for hours and can't find one that is cheap like the others. The part number is 16100-ZC0-015. Does anyone know how I can find a variety to choose from or do I need to get the honda brand carb?
