HONDA AACORD START COLD WHEN HOT HAVE TO CRANK LONGER TO START 1991 2.4? - 1
Extended cranking time on a hot motor can be an injectors leaking or if you top up the gas tank it could be that the carbon canister is flooded with raw gasoline and when you try starting the motor the unmetered gas gets drawn into the intake manifold through the purge valve which also floods the motor.
240000 miles you think its injectors hard to change the problem it starts hot to long crank about 5 sec.
Very common problem, replace or re-solder the PGMFI (main) relay. It's up under the dash on the driver's side, about 1"x 1"x 2" and has "Mitsuba" written on the side.
Google "honda main relay" for more than you ever wanted to know about this.
- I have a 2006 Honda Metropolitan, WHen cold it starts up but i have to keep revving it to keep it going? I have already replaced the battery, air filter, spark plug, did an oil change, got new gas, cleaned out the carb. Once it is warm i have no issues with it. It usually takes about 3 to 4 min of driving it to get it warm but once warm everything is fine with stopping and going.
- How come my atv won't electric start but will crank if I push start it? 2006 Honda trx. Doesn't have a pull rope only electric start. The starter motor turns over the engine but just won't start but I'll push it down the yard with it in gear and it will fire right up. I'm so confused by this.
- I have a 99 Honda civic ex manual. And it does not crank? I have checked battery, starter, clutch safety switch, and put a new ignition switch and still dies not crank.
- Honda replaced my serpentine belt but my car is now taking longer to crank? Honda recently replaced my serpentine belt (2012 Honda Civic, 185k miles). I noticed that on cold starts, the car takes longer to crank and then eventually starts. Sounds like it doesn't want to start but then does. I will take it to Honda but I'm just curious what this is likely caused by? Loose belt? Tight belt? Pulley issue? No noticeable squealing, just the crank time. Instead of the usual 1-3 seconds, now my car takes about 3-5.
