Honda replaced my serpentine belt but my car is now taking longer to crank?
Honda recently replaced my serpentine belt (2012 Honda Civic, 185k miles).
I noticed that on cold starts, the car takes longer to crank and then eventually starts. Sounds like it doesn't want to start but then does.
I will take it to Honda but I'm just curious what this is likely caused by? Loose belt? Tight belt? Pulley issue?
No noticeable squealing, just the crank time. Instead of the usual 1-3 seconds, now my car takes about 3-5.
Start has zero to do with belts.
Local mechanic can explain the options
Could be a weak battery.
You may have a fuel pump check valve that leaks the fuel pressure down when the vehicle sits over night.
