Honda vs toyota who's more reliable & long lasting?

Honda vs toyota who's more reliable and long lasting? And how do you know it?

Honda.

Highest resale value=most reliable.

Honda has the higehst resale value. Everyone should know that. Many car consumer magazines say that.

The Honda Accord was titled the most reliable car in the world last year according to I think either "Car & Driver magazine" or "Motortrend".

My family has owned both Honda's and Toyota's. We're now on our 3rd Honda Accord and our first Toyota Rav4. Each Honda we had has far exceeded 300,000 miles. We had a Toyota Corolla, which died around 250,000. We had a Honda CR-V, which we gave to my Uncle. Still going strong around 200,000 miles. We had a Toyota Camry, which died at 235,000 miles. Our current Honda Accord is at 132,000 miles. No problems yet. We expect it to pass 300,000 miles like our older Accord's in the past.

If you go to any mechanic with a Honda with a VTEC engine, which is what all Honda's have these days. And if you tell them something is wrong with the engine. They will not believe you. The mechanics would laugh and say it can't be the engine. No Honda VTEC engine has been known to fail. There's no record of something like that happening. Only way to kill a Honda before 300,000 miles is too drive it in the redline and rev very high to overheat the engine.

J.D. Power & Associates does a reliability test every year for cars in different segments. Honda and Toyota are always at the top of the lists, but more of Honda than Toyota.

Toyota and Honda are equally good cars.

Toyota

You can't say one is more reliable than another, both last a long time.

cars i owned that were honda/toyota.

1993 Toyota Pickup (hilux) 22re 347,000 miles kept going till i crashed it. (bought at 125,000 miles)
1989 Toyota Pickup (hilux) 3.0 3VZ-E, bad experience ( i wouldnt recommend the 3.0 V6) SOLD i won't count the miles here because it was no good.
1994 Toyota Pickup (hilux) currently 156,000 miles running strong.
bought at 118,000 miles.
now for the Honda's
1991 Honda Civic Si original D16A6 motor bought from original owner at 247,000 miles drove till 327,000 miles no problem then sold for a,
1994 Honda Civic Dx original D15B7 motor bought this car at a auction got it with 180,000 miles drove till 215,000 miles.
then bought a
1999 Honda Civic Dx original D16Y7 motor bought from original owner who always took it to honda and used synthetic oil bought the car at 100,000 miles it is currently at 152,000 miles and running strong, i may keep this one because its my favorite design of the honda civics.

so to recap:

toyotas- i put 222,000 miles on my toyota (1st one) still mad i crashed it. + almost 40,000 on my other toyota so thats 262,000 miles i drove (2) toyota 22re's combined.

hondas- now for honda's 80,000 miles on my first one, 35,000 miles on my second one. And 52,000 on my third one.

combined that is 167,000 miles i drove civic's.

i think they both are long lasting cars trucks if you keep good care of them.

but i tend to like the honda's better because they have a nicer ride to me and get better gas mileage.

I'd go for a toyota… If I'm not mistaken they guarantee you that you don't have to service the car for 6 years once you buy it! All you might have to do is change some brake and engine oils and maybe the radiator coolent!

Toyota; My husband and daughter each have Toyo trucks, both have well over 200,000 miles on them and are still going strong.

Yup i agree, Toyota is better. Fuel consumption is great and the design are nice too.

I don't know. But i have the Honda Accord and i know they are very reliable.

You know by what care is giving to one thats what its all about car care and that depends on you if car is used get a check list and look it over for signs of problems most any car can be drove into the 400,000 range if care is giving right yuo want to know what type in search box how to care for car

Both brands are hell great. But this time id buy toyota.

Both are right up there…
