Hondahornet 600 won't start?
I have tried today to get my Honda started put new fuel in as it has been stood a while drained the carbs of old fuel took the spark plugs out and also put it on charge as to not thinking of anything else to do it will turn but won't fire also checked that all the plugs have a spark please can anyone surgest an answer to the thing not starting thank you
Make sure fuel is flow to & entering the carburettors.
IF it is, then it could be clogged Pilot Jets and/or passages. (I'd recommend blowing both out with air if this is the case).
IF fuel isn't flowing to or entering the carburettor, then your problem is further up the line.
When you removed the spark plugs after attempting to start it, where the tips of them wet with fuel? IF yes, this would indicate that fuel is reaching the cylinder.
IF fuel does not flow through the fuel line and into carburettor - Your petcock is more than likely vacuum operated, so you need to make sure the vacuum is working. Simple to do, remove fuel hose from tank or carburettor, and attempt to start the bike. Fuel should flow out of the end of fuel hose if vacuum is good.
- Which bike would be a good first sport bike. Looking at CBR1000/600's and also the yamaha R1/R6? I don't know much about the differences, I know some people are all for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, of Kawasaki. Seems that whatever bike someone has, they say its the best. Besides actually engine size what is different? Are the frames different? Are the internals to the engine different in the 650? Any light shed on this would be very helpful!
- My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
