My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start?
I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
Starter switch may be worn, always do the cheapest thing first, do a test on the switch see if it is the culprit, some bikes have a side stand switch and this too could be checked
When you say it "won't start" do you mean it won't run, or the starting system won't continuously turn the engine trying to run.
If all of the electrics work as normal, install new spark plugs.
Cold engines are difficult to start with dirty plugs.
If the electrics go dead, that model had problems with the ignition switch shorting out.
