How to pronounce DOHC as in the Honda and Acura engines? - 1
Dual over head cam.
Dual overhead cams
DOUBLE over head camshaft
You say the words "Dual Overhead Cam"
Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you? It's an acronym, not a word which is "pronounced". Just like "FBI", "IRS", "CIA", etc., one simply reads the letters individually: "D-O-H-C". Alternately, one could state the entire phrase which the acronym stands for: "dual overhead camshafts" (note that it is "camshafts" (plural) and not "cam" or "cams".
Everybody uses the full form - dual overhead cams. It is just as easy as it is to say "D O H C."

- What engines can I directly swap my D16y8 Honda motor for? It has to be more powerful and easy to swap? I have a civic with a d16y8 and its served me well but what motor could I easily swap in? I want to use the same gearbox but I don't mind swaping the ECU. The easier the swap and the more HP the better. Would prefer to use the stock manifold and intake etc.
