How would I get my Honda Del Sol to be fast?
This is my first car and i don't know too much about Honda motors or how cars work in a honda. I have the one that comes with the B motor which I heard is rare. I have a 10k budget. I'm looking to hit about 280 wheel horse power which is already 300hp to the crank. That is pretty fast. If you consider the power to weight ratio of a del sol. Going turbo seems the easiest way to get hp but maintenance is not something I would like to keep up because I do tend to get lazy lol. Would an all motor build be possible to hit my goal? Please explain how if it's possible
If you don't know much about cars, time to start researching.
If it is your first car, just drive it. Honestly, you have no idea what a 280hp front wheel drive car can do, why do you need that much power on the street?
Any small high output engine will take constant tweaking. Pushing double the rated power is going to cause a lot more wear and tear. Drivetrain will be abused, engine itself will need to be tuned so it doesn't fry or blow.
Dumping $10,000 into an engine and not beefing up brakes, suspension, etc. Also makes no sense. Why not work on your car's handling first?
You get +10 HP gain for every Shocker JDM sticker you put on.
My cousin had an all-motor build on his Integra. It was fast, but he was told by the builder the engine would need to be rebuilt after about 10,000 miles due to the accelerated wear on the components. The car was always problematic despite being tuned by one of the area's most well know and respected builders/tuners.
Sell your del Sol for $2000, then take that money plus your $10,000 and buy an S2000; fun convertible Honda that is quick and reliable.
- Turbo on my honda del sol? I got a 5 speed 93 del sol and i'm inlove with the sound cars with turbo make when people shift. That "pshh" sound like air or gas. Lol i don't know. But is it possible to get that on my delsol? And if so, what do i need to buy? Where to install? And what are the prices?
- Hello there, I'm confused. I have a 93 honda del sol. 1.5L. Automatic. VTEC. Does it have a flywheel? I'm confused. I have a 93 honda del sol. 1.5L. Automatic. VTEC. Does it have a flywheel? The guy I bought the car from said the flywheel is bad. I took it to a shop they said automatics do not have flywheels. Now the 2nd shop says the starter is out and possibly the flywheel. I need to know if i should purchase both the starter and flywheel or just the starter?
- Good colors for a Honda Del Sol? I have a metallic green '93 Honda Del Sol and I can't stand the color. It's getting a paint job, but I'm not sure what color would look best on it. I'm thinking a gunmetal gray. Opinions? haha, I'm a female.
- Honda del sol Vtec b18c swap? I have a 94 honda del sol VTEC B16A3 and I'm thinking of doing a B18c type R swap. Reason is my friend is asking 1k for it. My question is What Do I Need (engine mounts, ect…) to make this B18c engine fit right in my del sol. Thanks.
