A lower price would be the thing to look for
For it to be started from cold, feel the engine first, check for smoke.
Check the oil for cloudiness or milkiness. Look for evidence of leaks.
General search for dents and corrosion especially the frame.
Look at corrosion around the exhaust manifold.
Bounce the suspension looking for notch movement and uneven damping.
Ask for receipts from the re-build.
But first check the paperwork, make sure the owner actually owns it and compare the papers against the VIN.
Ask for the maintenance history log and receipts. Oh… None…
Straight frame and forks
- My honda 2001 honda 400ex started smoking and lost alot of power? It smokes pretty badly like a 2 stroke and doesn't have power like it used to. Could it just be the head gasket it does have a litte oil around it? Or could it be more serious valves and rings?
- How to take off handlebars off a 2014 honda shadow? Laid down my bike yesterday, my handlebars are bent, got some new ones, and i took the 2 bolts off the bottom of the handlebars, throttle, brake, etc, and it won't come off? Is there anything else i need to remove to loosen the handlebars further?
- How to replace motorcycle handlebars that have a throttle tube? It's a1974 honda cb125s. The stock bars have a throttle slide (11st one I've seen ). How do I replace the bars with clip ons? Are the throttle slide clip ons? Or do I convert it to what I'm used to using?
- 1999 Honda 400ex stock headlight diameter? I'm looking into getting halo led lights on a 400ex but I don't know the diameter of the head lights. I would measure it myself but my bike is at the shop.
