Is Honda crx good for first car?
First car for daily driving/commuting, and is it reliable/cheap to maintain?
The Honda CRX is a great little car but they have not built one since 1991. That means that the newest one you could buy will be 24 years old. Finding a nice one will be difficult as they only built a total of 233,171 from 1988 to 1991. If you find one look closely for rust especially if it is a northern car. Know also that this car has a cam belt that must be replaced every 90,000. This is an interference engine and as such if the belt breaks you will have serious engine damage. If you find on make sure they can tell you the last time the cam belt was replaced. If you are not 100% sure when it was replaced then replace it as soon as possible. The price to replace the belt and water pump is around $4500 at an independent shop and $900 at a Honda Dealer. Factor that in when dealing with the seller.
