Is my voltage regulator shot on my 2001 Honda trx 400ex? It is charging the battery at 80 volts! Destroyed my battery but runs. Any ideas?

The VR in your alternator will not stop your motor running until the battery gets to a point below the level your engine management system requires to operate.
If there's 80 volts being developed your wire systems will be in danger of melt down!
Get the systems checked by a professional with professional equipment where they can then advise on the correct remedy
Yes, it is probably the voltage regulator. Disregard the uninformed answer from the Tiger. The high voltage will probably not melt any wires, it is high current (amperage) that does that because excessive current generates heat. However, high voltage can damage components like capacitors and resisters inside electronic modules, as well as bulb filaments in lights and indicators. Do not run the bike again until the problem is fixed.
I would say so.
- What's the difference between the '07 Honda TRX 450r '08 Honda TRX 450r? Is there much of a difference? I know the '08 gas tank was reduced to 2.6 gallons and it has more customization, but I'm not sure what the difference is between the 07 and 08. I see a lot more 07's and they're cheaper but the 08's cost more and seem better. Is there any difference?
- My honda 2001 honda 400ex started smoking and lost alot of power? It smokes pretty badly like a 2 stroke and doesn't have power like it used to. Could it just be the head gasket it does have a litte oil around it? Or could it be more serious valves and rings?
- Mini bike engine runs full throttle, I believe there's a problem with the internal governor gear, any thoughts? It's a Honda g150 engine that's been sitting in a shed for over 35 years. I took off the carb and cleaned it out, the governor arm doesn't return back to idle, it just sits on full throttle. Runs fine minus that problem. Got it started yesterday and it took off I had to bail and it kept going right into my neighbors house lol.
- I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect? I have a Honda Harmony HRB215 K4 SDA that won't pull start but if I take off the recoil and drill start it, it runs perfect. I did a compressin test, the pull start only gets the mower to 60psi but the drill gets the mower to 150psi. This mower does have a decompression vale where the ehaust opest about 1/8 of the way. I tore the ead off and checked and cleaned the valves. They don't stick open. Could there be an issue with the decompression valve? Or would it be the piston rings?
