Is the AEM V2 cold air intake worth it for my 97 honda prelude?

So i'm thinking of buying a cold air intake and i've heard the v2 is a really good one. Is it worth the money? How much and what would i gain from it? Just basically need to know details and all that stuff. Thankz a lot guys

I think all cold air intakes are the same (cone filter and big tube going to throttle body). I have had plastic and the metal ones; I thought the material would have heat soak issues but my intake air temperature on both applications were the same but much cooler than factory. Putting one one you will notice that the factory includes a lot of unneeded plastic, not much difference in HP but sounds louder. If you use the CAI in conjunction with a less restrictive exhaust you will notice a little bit of gains but nothing to brag about.

Lighter wallet, might get a little boost in hp at wide open throttle.

Probably zero noticeable difference in everyday driving.

Have extra cocos to burn for nothing gain and to repair the car later from the non sense product like CAI product: "Go ahead, make my day" (Voice of Clint.E)

The answer is no, it's not worth it. Without compensating PCM tables for fuel (cold air is denser) even IF it made a huge difference in temp, you will run lean at WOT since the O2 isn't being used at that point.

The average HP figure used for intake temps is 1HP for every 10* of decreased inlet temp. Since you are talking 50* (a VERY liberal figure) that money would gain you 5HP, which you can't even feel.

Spend money on real mods.
