Are all throttle cables the same? Or which one do i need for my motorcycle?

I'm new to motorcycles and picked up a 71' kawasaki g3ss. 2-stroke rotary valve. 90cc. The throttle cable sticks, so it high revs and stays there and I need a replacement.

Unfortunately I do not know what kind of throttle cable I actually need.

My cable sort of looks like this, it has one cable running through to the throttle body on the handlebar, but midway there's a split, and it seems like there are two cables that come out from a junction in the wire.

will this fit my bike as well?

Each model of bike has it's own cable. That says it's a Honda cable. Have you tried cleaning and lubing or is your cable frayed? There's a lot of videos on youtube showing how to clean and lube the cable and they all show a kit. Just undo the cables from both ends, get you a small can of light oil and insert a little at a time into the upper part. When it starts dripping out the bottom, the cable should slide better. You might check the spring(s) on the carb too. All that needs cleaned.

It has to be made to fit the specific model you have.

The nipples at the ends might well fit but the lengths of the sections need to be the correct lengths.

On a bike that old there's always a chance that someone has already fitted the wrong part. It is probably best to join an owners club they will have access to parts books and maybe microfiches.
