Are motorbike tank bags worth getting?
I really like the look of tank bags.
the bike I have is an upright tourier and is mostly black except the tank which comes silver as standard.
the tank is scratched up so I was thinking either a black tank bag or a black used tank or maybe even a paint job but I would need the bike ready in a day.
my worry with the bag is will it last and how bad is it in direct sunshine as I assume it heats up unlike a metal tank which would remove the heat more.
how much would a tank cost to be painted?

I looked up pictures of the bike, seems like a tank shape that wouldn't be well suited to most tank bags. Other than that, I always loved a magnetic tank bag (used to travel long distance a lot) with a good map window, and it's a great place to keep all the stuff you want quick access to (ie. Bottle of water, smokes, change, alternate gloves, etc. Etc.) on long trips.
Not sure what you mean about the heat thing, all it's going to do is make the tank slightly cooler. As for sun damage, a decent one will of course be uv stabilised as it's designed to be outdoors. Never had a problem with that and mine have put up with some pretty strong sunlight.
IMO, a tank bag is only worth getting if you plan on using it for additional storage. It seems excessive to me if you plan on getting one just because you like the looks of it or even to cover up some scratches

- Why is my Honda CB250 motorbike spewing out so much smoke? When I run my bike it gives off a lot of smoke when riding and at the lights. As far as I can tell it runs fine, but just smokes a lot. It was so bad tonight that the taxi behind me was pretty much engulfed by smoke, so much so I was worried if he could see the road properly or not. I of tern take it on longish distances (over an hour of riding at about 90ks an hour (56 miles. Could that have damaged it ( I know its not exactly designed for that)
