Honda cbr500r on a 1000+ mile tour?

I'm thinking about taking my cbr500r to Vancouver and back. Would it make the trip? I'm planning on buying a new chain, bringing a extra chain with me, some chain lube, and oil along with my toolkit and clothes. Will it make it or should I rent a dedicated touring bike.

Sure, why not. I just read a ride report from a lady who completed an 8000 mile 2 week ride on her Ninja 250 across the US and back, including a couple of 1000+ mile single day rides. People ride these smaller bikes all over the country all the time.

Chains will last for 10,000 miles easy. Leave the spare home for the trip, you can't install it without special tools anyway. Chain lube is good, oil can be bought on the way if necessary.

There's no need for tools if you don't know how to diagnose and fix problems along the way. For breakdowns, the best tools are a towing service, a cell phone and a credit card.

You can cover 1000 miles at 60mph average in 17 hours, so it's really not that tough a trip, but do give yourself time to enjoy the ride and prepare for the weather. You will get weather and it may not all be good weather.

Crotch rocket sure doesn't sound too comfortable on a long ride

I was thinking new chain and sprockets and a scottoiler, if its a Honda I would not worry to be honest.
