How do you shift on a classic motorcycle?

Something like Honda CG? It is different than dirt bikes and sport bikes!

Hold in the clutch.change the gear with your foot and let the clutch out again

Clutch-in, shift-up, release…

No difference

One down, four up, and pull the clutch in each time.

Pretty much the same.

Changing gear is the same on all motorcycles. The only differences were, that some old British and European bikes had the shifter on the right and the brake pedal on the left.

(In more than 30 years of motorcycling, I have never heard anyone refer to a CG-125 as a "classic". And I doubt I ever will again…)

Depress clutch pedal with left foot, move shift lever with left hand forward for first, back 2 or 3 positions depending on 3 speed or 4 speed transmission. 'Classic' Harley before 1954 when foot shift was option. 1949 FLE had 4 speed, WLA had 3 speed tranny as did the UL project and the 1954 FL xpolice with stoppable speedometer had 4 speed. Some servicars had left hand throttle, right hand shifter- "CLASSIC" police trikes and some of the 2 wheelers had same setup- foot clutch, right hand shift, left hand throttle. Indian had the left foot clutch, right hand shift, left hand throttle- 1946 Indian chief project. Since I answered for 'ACTUAL CLASSIC' motorcycle use- and noted make, model, years, I get the points? Silly posters and words forms- time to read Hayakawa 'On Words' . TEASING ALERT!
