How much should I expect to buy in fees when buying a new motorcycle at a dealership?

I want to buy a Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS that has an MSRP of $5,299 in the state of California. The dealership I plan on going to is Fremont Honda Kawasaki. I would be financing the motorcycle. Up-front, how much should I expect to pay, assuming I buy the bike at MSRP? Thanks!
Also, what information would they need? ID etc? I'm 17 and have no permit or license for any sort of vehicle. Could my mother buy it for me? She has a Class C license only.

You don't need a motorcycle license to buy a motorcycle - you need to be 18 to title a motorcycle and register a motorcycle. The Class C is for riding the the motorcycle.

Why don't you find a nice used bike - you will be tossing away thousands of dollars in fees and depreciation on a new bike and at your age and I suspect experience level not a good financial choice.
Dealers will get you for as many fees as they can - freight, prep, doc, etc and that is before taxes titles and tags - which are fixed costs anyway. Call around several dealerships and get the 'out the door' (OTD) price to find the best price. Easily fees will add $1000-1500 in fees (before taxes title and tags) to the price is you go in without some OTD prices in hand.

You can't buy the bike. You are not 18.

Your mother could buy the bike in theory, but without a license, how do you plan on getting it home? Neither of you could drive it. Neither of you could get insurance on it either as neither of you are licensed.

So now you have a brand new Ninja 300ABS, with no insurance and no license. Hope you have a trailer.

As for fees? If you are financing through the dealer, they are going to bend you over for a lot. No matter how you swing the deal, the dealer always wins if you are financing. They will work the contract in their favor every time. Even if you think you are winning, you are not. Read the fine print.

A common fee you will see is "TTL" which stands for Tax, Title, Licensing. This on average is around $500. Generally, doc fees, prep fees, shipping, etc are all included into the show room price. However, before people complain about that, the MSRP and the invoice price are much different from the show room price.

I would be surprised if you found a Ninja with $5,299. The dealer probably got it out of the manufacturer for around $4,800. They won't settle for less than a $800 gain, so they will probably feed you line of non-sense with fees to push it up to around $6,000. You will try to work some magic and get it down to around $5,500, which makes you think you won, but they are still making a lot of money on you. Then the TTL charges come in afterwards.

So in all? I would be surprised if you got out at around $6,000 for that bike. Will be more if you finance as they will contract you in for the full 5 years of interest. So say that $6,000 over 5 years with an 8% interest? You are looking at around $7,300 for a bike that is MSRP'd at $5,299. Yep, you got hosed.
