How tall should my dirt bike be?
I just bought a Honda CRF250L, and when I sit on it, I'm on my tip-toes when I have both my feet down. I would like to know, how tall relative to your feet is the ground is a dirt bike supposed to be? I have been told that the right size for you is when you're on your tip-toes but I mean logically speaking wouldn't it be easier to ride if you could easily touch the ground with both feet? Or is it normal for riders to barely be able to touch the ground with both feet? Just curious, thanks.
Logically speaking, yes. But, riding dirt bike is against logic. Riding a bike where you can only touch the ground on your tiptoes teaches you to keep your feet up and balance better, and be an overall better rider. On a bike where you can stand flat footed, you will be more tempted to put your feet down rather than stay on the bike.
Thanks! You answered both my questions! And yes I suppose you're right about dirt biking being against logic in itself. So do most riders ride a bike that tall? As in FMX, Enduro, etc. Riders?
You relaise a crf250l is dualsport so it is street legal (you can drive it like a car)
- Which dirt bike should I get? I was wondering what dirt bike to get I've had 2 dirt bikes and 1 pit bike they were a 50cc 80cc and 125cc I've been to 1 track before and to my friends house with the 125 and he has jumps and a almost a track still working on it but I wanted to know what bike was perfect for me I'm 5 foot 2 and 120lbs and experienced here are the bikes: Kawasaki klx 140l Yamaha ttr230 or Honda crf230
- What type of dirt bike should I get? I'm 5'11 and 150 lbs. I'm an intermediate rider who's looking for a bike that has dual sport capabilities, any suggestions? My uncle offered to sell me his 2003 Honda crf 230 that's in great condition for 1000 or less and I'd need to buy a conversion kit for it, good idea or no
- What size dirt bike should I get? I want to buy a dirtbike. I don't know what size I should get though. I'm 5'4 and 120 pounds. I know how to ride a dirtbike I've had one before. I don't want one to small or way to big. I was thinking like a Honda XR100 or yamaha TTR125 or suzuki DRZ125 Are those to small? Those 3 dirtbikes the seat heights are a few inches below my waist. I think that's to small. What dirtbike do you think would be good for me?
- What's a good beginner bike for a tall rider? I've always wanted to get a bike ever since my mom let me ride one when I was 12. I'm a 16 year old girl, 5'9", 135 pounds. I was thinking about a Triumph Bonneville (it's my dream to own one but now I'm thinking it's too small) or a Honda. Does anyone know what would be a good bike for me, even if I grow an inch or two more before I can afford one?
