Stabilizers or training wheels.
Good and proper balance control.
Skill.
Practice. Learn to RIDE a bike, not just steer it. Try taking some lessons to learn observed trials riding. We can remain stationary, or even coast backward with out putting a foot down. Some track time with a good coach will help too. Practice doing things right. Quit practicing bad habits and show stuff.
Practice and experience, over time you will gain the sense of balance to stay upright at low speed without putting a foot down. As science has taught us with gyros and the principles of inertia your moving wheels can generate enough motion to keep the weight of you and you machine upright at even very, very slow speeds. You can do this by "creeping" by feathering your clutch and only going a few miles/kilometer per hour in gridlock traffic.
I weigh 180 lbs and I can keep 1000 lbs Harley Davidson up without putting my feet down while only moving 2-3 MPH. Practice, practice, practice.
Dragging the brakes helps especially the rear…
Observation and anticipation, look ahead for movement and gaps, not at the few feet just in front of the wheel.
At very slow, walking pace, keep the throttle and clutch constant and control your speed with the rear brake.
I have found that by not using the throttle and feathering the clutch I can maintain very slow speeds without ever putting a foot down. It is bad for the clutch, but it works.
The same way you learned how to ride a bicycle without putting a foot down, practice, practice, practice.
A Hero bike ridder puts they leg down that is what looks cool, then it looks like your gonna get off the bike and punch a tree.
- Why does the left front wheel on my 4wheeler lock as soon as i touch the lever but the other 1 don't even hardly slow down? I have a 2007 Honda Recon 250 4wheeler and it's been doing that off and on for awhile now, i thought it might have been a low tire because it's done the exact same thing before with a low tire but my tire pressure is fine. I'm guessing something is wrong with the brake shoes but i'm not sure what to look for because i'm not very experienced in the mechanic department and i don't wanna mess something up worse than it already is Haha very funny Andrew
