How to set timing on honda twinstar 200 1979 motorcycle?
How do I set the timing help me please
A timing light is necessary (strobe light).
Turn the flywheel until the points open their widest, then stop turning.
Adjust the point gap to specs.
Start the engine and shine the timing light into the hole of the plate the points are mounted to.
You will see 2 markings
I & II
The single line is to find TDC
The set of 2 lines - rev the engine and hold it,
to get the timing to "full advance."
Rotate the plate with the 3 mounting screws until the timing light shines in between those 2 lines.
- What battery does my 1979 Honda CM400t need? Yes I have checked the manual, I was just wondering if someone could provide a link to the specific battery. The manual says it needs a 12 volt 12 amperes battery, thanks!
- No spark condition in a 1979 Honda CB250T? I picked this bike up a couple days ago and it has no spark. It has a kickstarter, but no battery. It also has CDI ignition electric start. The specific CDI is TIA01-20, does this bike need a battery for spark even for the kickstart?
- Is the 1979 honda cb750f super sport reliable? A guy in town is selling one with 11,000 miles on it and says it runs great. Are there any known problems with them? I don't want to buy a bike that will end up needing lots of work to fix when it's only worth like $1000 anyways.
- Honda twinstar won't start? So my bike was stolen. Two kids walked about a block away with it and a lady confronted them about it being stolen. Lucky for me. So they dropped it on its side and ran. After I got it back I can't see any visable damage. What could be the reason it will not start? This bike is old but has never had problems starting.
