I have a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE. It won't start even though the battery is charged. What can I do?
I just got the battery charged and the bike still won't start. I can hear it trying but it just won't catch. I know very little about engines but could it be the fuel pump or carburetor that needs to be cleaned or replaced. If so, how do I do that?
First try installing new spark plugs.
Constantly trying to start an engine continuously with the choke on, can foul spark plugs.
If that doesn't cure the problem, the carburetor will have to be cleaned.
The carburetor has to be removed from the engine.
Try a shot of ether (engine starting fluid).
If that doesn't work, take it to a bike shop if you don't know much about engines. You'll be better off than trying to get it to run yourself.

- Can you put harley wide glide forks on a honda shadow ace 1100? Both forks are 41mm. I'm trying to put a 21" front tire on the bike and I'm weighing my options on what I should do. If the forks can set into the triple tree with not much problem Luke only having to make shims then that's the way to go.
- 99 Honda Shadow VT750 Ace Deluxe? When I turn the key on I don't have any power and I have checked all fuses and none of them seem to be blown
- Have a 2003 Honda Rebel, won't start (no power) after it rained, I charged the battery, still nothing? Cold end is a little corroded but nothing serious, has been starting up before the rain. Suggestions? And it should be dry.
