Is it legal to drive a 150cc scooter on the highway?
Can you ride something like the Honda PCX or something on the Freeway?
I believe that the Honda's "150" is actually displaces about 153cc. My Vespa 150 displaces 150.46cc. I bought my Vespa *because* it was freeway legal. I have checked every State of the USA and my Vespa is freeway / Interstate legal on every State in the Union.
Some States have a 150cc minimum on freeways. Some States have a 5bhp minimum on freeways. Some States have no minimum.
All "150" Chinese scooters are under 150cc and are not legal on California Freeways. The Genuine Stella 150 is 147.5cc and is not California freeway legal. Both have more than 5bhp and are freeway legal in *some* States.
Question: Is it legal to drive a 150cc scooter on the highway?
Answer: If the "150cc scooter" has more than 150cc, such as a Vespa LX150 or a Honda PCX, it is freeway/Interstate legal in any State in the Union, probably legal anywhere in the world.
Question: Can you ride something like the Honda PCX or something on the Freeway?
Answer: Yes -- I can and do ride a Vespa LX150 on the freeways of Los Angeles and take trips on the Interstates to the Mojave and Sierras.
Most highways have *NO* minimum speed limit. *SOME* freeways have a minimum speed, *only* if there are signs stating the minimum, afaik 45 mph. That "minimum" is ignored if traffic slower. In some part of the US Interstate system pedal bicycles are totally legal, doing 10 mph or less.
Many people are afraid of riding a 150cc scooter on the highway -- for those, they feel they need a bigger bike.
If YOU are like me, happy being riding on the right lane, doing the same speeds as the Big Rigs, you can get a 150cc scooter. In most states, yes.
Is it smart? Maybe… Will it go at least 70mph? Most highways have a maximum and a minimum speed limit.
Highways limited to 55mph, usually have a minimum speed of 40mph
Check the laws in your area. ITS NOT ILLEGAL, BUT, IT IS UNDER-POWERED. So GET AT LEAST A 250cc BIKE. Interstate hiways have federal minimum of 150cc - under that they are 'motordriven bicycle' not 'motorcycle' as legal vehicle class under federal rules. 151cc and legal mostly for interstates federally and most states will let them on with few exceptions- Ohio was one that would NOT let my old 154cc Honda on hiway- they had a 15 hp minimum as well as engine size.

- Why is it that some husbands let their wives drive luxury cars while they drive ordinary cars? I've been observing some of my neighbors (one of them is a stay at home mom) and the husbands drive ordinary cars like Honda Accord or Honda Pilot. But the wives tend to drive luxury cars like Acura TSX or Acura RDX (some form of luxury car). What is the reason for this? Why do wives get to drive luxury cars while the husband drives ordinary car? I should say some of them. Its not a problem though but was only curious. The neighbors are Asians actually.
- Yamaha TTR125L road legal in NY? My buddy just went to the NYS DMV and paid $65 for a registration and license plate for his Honda Rancher ES which is valid for one year. Can I do the same for a Yamaha TTR125L dirt bike or do I need lights and a motorcycle license to ride on small roads in New York State?
- Would I need a motorcycle license to drive a Honda Metropolitan scooter in Florida? I've been looking into getting one. I also looked up the rules for scooters/mopeds in Florida, but it was a little confusing and I think the scooter I want surpassed some of the maximum requirements for being classified as a scooter/moped.
- Setting the Flywheel timing on a Honda 150cc Lawnmower Engine? I took an old Honda G150 apart and am now putting it back together and I'm not sure how to get the flywheel timed properly. Can anyone just give me a basic walk through on how to time the flywheel?
