Learning on a 250 Two-Stroke KTM?

I've ridden four wheelers all my life, but I've only ever ridden a dirtbike once and it was a 4 stroke Honda, so I know the two stroke KTM will have much more power than I'm used to, but I'm looking to get into bikes and my buddy will sell me one CHEAP. Is it a fairly good bike to learn on, how hard IS it to learn on, and will it be a good bike to just take for rides in the woods as I won't be racing it like the previous owner?

Cool

Wow! You have taken a great decision of buying KTM and i'm sure you must be having a great learning experience.

Its fine but KTM parts are not cheap Thats the only bit of advice i can offer you also is there a KTM dealer anywhere near you If not then you will not only spend more on parts but you may to wait to get them too otherwise its fine

  • Small family car for learning to drive? Hi, I was wanting some help to do with what car to buy. The basic rundown is that I'm wanting a car a 17 year old can learn to drive in, so there's the obvious of low insurance, safety and reliability etc. It needs five seats as it will also be used as a general family car and can be up to about £6000. I have been looking around and so far am leaning towards the Honda Jazz, but any advice on the subject would be very much appreciated.
  • Which is better? Honda cbr 250 or ktm duke 390? I can't decide between these two! Both are priced almost same! And both are great bikes! i want to buy the bike which has: 1.decent mileage(30-35kmpl is fine). 2.more refined engine. 3.comfort. 4.great build quality 5.lesser maintenance. 6.lower servicing cost and decent resale value.
  • Is the honda 250r four stroke or two stroke? So i've found out that r stands for race… Most other bikes have either f or t for two stroke or four. So is the honda 250 a four stroke or a two stroke bike? Or is it neither?
  • How to drain 2 stroke oil and gas out of a 2 stroke fuel tank? I accidentally threw in low quality 2 stroke oil in my honda cr125 2002 and I've been told It could really harm my bike… All I want to know is how to drain all the gas with the 2 stroke oil out of my bike? Please no hate comments!
