Looking for a beginner motorcycle?

Looking for a motorcycle for my younger brother. I'm a seasoned rider and have a 600 sport bike and a 900 scrambler. My brother has expressed an interest in motorcycling, but really can't afford to buy one. I'm looking to get him a cheap starter bike for his 20th birthday in May. I want something he's really going to be able to learn on and not get too upset if he drops it. I also don't want something that he's gonna go "Hey ya'll, watch this!" around his friends. He's also not a very big person, about 5'7" 130lbs. Was looking at a Honda Rebel. What does everyone else think?

The Rebel 250 is a good choice, easy to ride and learn on and if he gets more excited about bikes he can choose his own pony.

Ninja 250 should be a good choice… Stylish, not very powerful, you can get a decent price on second hand one as thtz consider as a learner one… So plenty available in the market.

Ninja 500. Good power, good position, will take time to out grow, easy to control, and you can find them cheaper then most 250cc ninja.

  • Which motorcycle will be suitable for a beginner with little riding experience? I just recently took the MSF course and got my motorcycle endorsement. I want a bike I can ride for a year or two then eventually move to a cbr600rr. I plan to do some highway riding and computing within town. I'm 6'1 152 pounds, base on what I told you will you recommend the kawasaki ninja 300, the Yamaha R3, or the Honda cbr500r?
  • Which motorcycle should I get for a beginner? I'm planning on buying a motorcycle because I'm turning 16 soon and I need a vehicle to commute to and from school. Which bike is reliable for a starter? Honda CBR 125CC, Yamaha R125, Ninja Kawasaki 250R or other bikes? I'm also in a budget and looking for a bike around $2,000 and will not go over $2500. I'm also 5'11 and 155 LBS.
  • What's a good beginner motorcycle? So i want to get my motorcycle license soon, i have never driven a motorcycle in my life so what would be a good bike for beginners? I know how to drive a manual car so getting used to the gear changing shouldn't be to difficult. I was thinking about a Honda cbr300r.
  • What is a good beginner motorcycle? I'm 5'7, never drove a manual, so I'm going to take the msf course. I just wanted to ask if you consider a Honda cbr500r as a good beginner bike, because I'm going to be driving in the freeway, thanks in advance
