Motorcycle Vin Short, how to clear vin check?
I have a 1977 Honda and the vin is not 17 digits due to it being pre 1981 so it won't clear a vin check. Any way around this?

UPDATE: Go to http://powersports.honda.com/...ntact.aspx. Click on ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE, SEND MESSAGE. This will open a popup and there will be two pull down menus. Follow the yellow brick road and enter your VIN.
I ran into the same problem with my 1977 Honda CB750k. I did find a site that ran the truncated VIN and it came back as not reported as a total loss or stolen, but I just don't trust it at all, because I believe that it didn't find any results at all and came back as a false negative. In other words, no results were interpreted as no reports. The two just are not the same in any way.

- Running a VIN check on a dirt bike in Australia? So I was considering running a VIN check on my dirt bike, which is a 00' Honda Cr250 (un-registerable). I'm in Australia and I'm not sure where to go to get this check done as this bike would not have any registration history. Ideas? Help? Much appreciated as i'm just trying to find out my bikes past & possibly the first owner.
