Should I get a 125cc dirt bike?

Hi I'm 5'6 barely and I used to own a Honda crf100 trail bike. I want an RM125(Suzuki). How much faster and differences are there between these two bikes? It's probably a dumb question but I just want some opinions. I'm not ready for a 250cc. In fact I've never rode a racing bike.

They are quite different. You notice it most when you get on the gas hard - while the CRF would accelerate as you're used to, the RM will accelerate in a more brutal fashion. The power arrives much more quickly and will take you by surprise the first time. Your riding style will change from a "trail ride" to "controlled chaos".

Not to worry you though - it's a rush and a heck of a lot of fun. Not particularly suited for trail riding, but can be used for it if that's what you want.

I had a 50cc 3.5BHP moped when I bought a 12BHP Honda CG125. WOW! It felt like a bloody missile, in a good sort of way… That's exactly the reason why I'm an avid motorcycle enthusiast today…

  • Would a 125cc 4 stroke scooter be able to keep up with a 125cc sports bike? I'm thinking of getting a Sym Jet 4 125cc, and my friend rides a Honda CBR 125, we re riding about 3 hours down to the Bulldog Bash, would my scooter be powerful enough to keep up with him? And cruise comfortably at about 60mph? Long and short. How much of an advantage/disadvantage are gears when it comes to acceleration and speed.

  • What size dirt bike should I get? I want to buy a dirtbike. I don't know what size I should get though. I'm 5'4 and 120 pounds. I know how to ride a dirtbike I've had one before. I don't want one to small or way to big. I was thinking like a Honda XR100 or yamaha TTR125 or suzuki DRZ125 Are those to small? Those 3 dirtbikes the seat heights are a few inches below my waist. I think that's to small. What dirtbike do you think would be good for me?
