What sites sell chopper, bobber parts in the UK?

I'm 17 and i really like the look of bobbers and i have not yet done cbt but i know i will only be anle to ride a 125cc when i get those tests done. So i have been looking for days now for a website which will answer my needs. I'm looking for a site that i can buy parts to turn a simple 125cc motorbike into a bobber (maybe something like a honda rebel, suzuki gz, ect) the only site i have found is blue collar bobbers or whatever its called and thats in the usa. So could any of you tell me a few tidy sites i can buy parts from for a bobber?

"Bobbers" are a US style of bike not popular in the UK
Even in the states, and definitely forget the UK, you will not be able to buy parts to alter a small engined bike like the ones you mention - they have to be custom made and if you can't do that yourself it wiull be just mega expensive to end up with a heavily modified bike that will be a nightmare or even be impossible to insure for road use.

If you want to get on the road on a normal production bike for now then great, go for it. If you have to be on a "Bobber" immediately then you can forget it, maybe in years to come with a larger engined custom bike then maybe.

"Bobber" = low cruiser style with solid rear end, no rear suspension. Uncomfortable on UK roads in the extreme and very poor handling to the point of being dangerous.

This is a rather sweet 125 (not a bobber I admit) the desert racer looks good too.

Not cheap but still very reasonable for the work involved.

But the essence of building a chopper or a bobber is not what you can buy and bolt on, but what you can make or hack from other parts.

I'm sure you could search for SR125 bobbers and find something to inspire you.

There's nowhere in the UK that sells off-the-shelf parts, to turn any 125cc bike into a bobber and that's why you can't find one. All the parts are designed for Harleys, Triumphs or other large capacity machines.

If you want to make your 125 into a bobber you'll either have to make (or modify) the parts yourself, or pay someone to do the work for you, which is hugely expensive. Of course, since your bike will then be a modified machine, the cost of your insurance will go up dramatically. And that's why you hardly ever see a modified 125cc bobber on the road in Britain.

AJS 125 "Bobber" - http://www.ajsmotorcycles.co.uk/new_AJS/docs/Raptor/docs/Bobber-P-0.html (Chinese, cheap and not very well built).

Hard Knock Choppers 125cc bobbers - http://kikker5150.com/hardknock.html (only sold in the USA).

Dealers in the UK that sell bobber parts:

Errors:
"… Mega expensive…" -- wrong. You can get cheap parts
"… Solid rear end, no rear suspension…" -- wrong. A bobber with a stock frame and suspension and have the *same* handling as a stock cruiser.

Truth -- It is *cheap* and *easy* for you to bob your own small cruiser. Start by buying a used Suzuki GZ125 (or whatever) and RIDE. Look at it. Think about it. See what you don't like and find something else.

That big heavy rear fender and rails? Lose it, get a lightweight trailer mudguard. Yeah, you'll have to figure out mounting using steel flat bars, but it will be cheap. The Harley aftermarket catalogs are good. Anything can be made to fit.

  • What are some sites where people rent out their own personal cars? I'm thinking of one, but I forgot the name of it. You'd have a list of people renting their cars out in your area. You could rent anything from a 15yo Honda with a manual trans to newer Teslas and BMWs. Any similar rental services?
  • Small parts assembly for Ohio? I'm looking for a specific part time job. I believe it is for Honda, in the Sydney/Anna, Ohio area. It has you assembling small rubber and foam parts to be used in the production of cars. I remember a childhood friend of mine whose mom did it a long time ago, and someone I work with knows someone who did it too. I would very much appreciate it if someone knows what I'm talking about, and may be able to help. I know it is kinda vague.
  • How to build a trike chopper? I've been wanting to build a trike for a while now to pay tribute to the old school 70's show trikes but I don't know what kind of rear end to use I'm probabily going to buy a honda or yamaha from the 80's to start the bike but I don't want to use a vw bug what kind of rear end should I use?
