What size dirt bike should a 153lb 6 1 14yr old get?
I'm 14 and I'm 6 1 153lbs owned a 2007 kx125 2 stroke and an older Honda 90 when I was 11 back in 2012 and sold it mostly because I wanted something bigger. I feel very comfortable on dirt bikes and I'm very fit for my age mostly cause I have moved furniture since I was 6. But I'm just looking for something to trail ride and do some jumps on! Any suggestions are appreciated!
YZ 250F, go 4-stroke, less maintenance and allowable in more riding areas. Or a YZ 450F if you think you're man enough.
YZ's are fun. The YZ250FX is electric start which is a nice convenience but I feel the Yamaha WR's are more slated for trail riding. Light weight, 6 speeds. Hard to beat. Kawasaki's KX250 or KX450 is quite similar. Besides an inch or two in seat height, I think the WR 250 is a bit taller than the KX, they are two quite similar bikes. The WR's and KX's are slightly less "performance" oriented than the YZ's but also require less maintenance. I'd stay away from Suzuki's DR's. They're not bad bikes, just not great bikes either. I didn't mention the Honda CRF's as I don't have any experience with any bigger than the CRF 230's and you are way too big and experienced for that bike.
Go down and sit on both the green and blue bikes and see if your but can tell a difference between the two then hop on CL and see what kind of deals you can find.
